The Look of Texture
Venetian plaster is a luxurious finish that mimics the look of polished marble or natural stone. Applied with a trowel in multiple thin layers, it’s then burnished to a smooth, glossy surface with soft depth and subtle movement. It adds elegance and texture, often seen in upscale or Mediterranean-style interiors.
Luster & Plaster
Burnished effects that shimmer, producing a reflective and luminous effect 'Pearlescent'. They can be applied with brushes, rollers, or trowels and are often layered to create depth and movement. Ideal for modern or glamorous interiors, metallics add sophistication and drama.
Wall Finishes & Color Wash
Color washing involves brushing or rubbing a translucent glaze over a base coat to create a soft, weathered look with visible brushstrokes. The technique creates gentle color variations and depth, making walls feel warm, textured, and subtly aged. It’s especially popular in country or rustic settings.
Marbling
Marbling is a high-skill faux finish technique that recreates the veining and depth of natural marble. Using brushes, sponges, and veining tools, layers of glaze and color are manipulated to imitate real stone. It’s often used on columns, fireplace mantels, or furniture to bring a touch of classical elegance.
Wood Finishing and Crackling
Wood graining simulates the appearance of real wood grain on non-wood surfaces. Special tools like graining combs and brushes are used to create the illusion of texture and wood fibers. It’s commonly applied to doors, trim, and furniture to mimic expensive wood finishes without the cost.
For wood and other textures, distressing or crackling techniques are used for intentional aging.
